Restaurant Website Design on Long Island
Your menu should not be a blurry PDF from 2019. We build restaurant sites that show today’s specials, take reservations, and let people order direct instead of handing 15% to 30% to a delivery app.
What is quietly costing you covers
six things we see on almost every restaurant website we are asked to replace, and what we do about each one.
A hungry person on Long Island decides where to eat in about ninety seconds. They search on their phone, they look at your menu, they check whether you are open, and they either tap to call or they tap the next restaurant. If your menu is a PDF that pinches and zooms, you already lost them. If your hours are wrong, you lost them and annoyed them.

Your menu is a PDF and Google cannot read a word of it
What it costs you
A PDF does not resize on a phone, so the person deciding between you and the place forty feet up the street is pinching and dragging at a document built for letter paper. Search engines index almost nothing inside it, which means the dish you are actually known for does not exist as far as Google is concerned. An AI assistant asked what a restaurant serves cannot quote a file it cannot parse. And when a price changes you either pay somebody to remake the file or you leave last year’s version up.
What we do about it
Every dish, description, and price goes up as real text with menu structured data. From Growth the sections become their own pages, so the raw bar, the pasta list, and the brunch menu can each rank for what they actually are, and the copywriting is ours, so nobody is writing dish descriptions after a double. You also get an editor from Growth: change a price or mark the branzino sold out from your phone between covers.

A third of a Friday night walks out with the delivery driver
What it costs you
The apps take a percentage of every ticket they carry, and on a margin that was already thin that is real money leaving the building on your busiest night. The worse part is that the customer belongs to the platform. You never get the phone number, the email, or the chance to mention the Wednesday prix fixe, so you rent the same regular back every time they order. The apps earn their keep on discovery. They are an expensive way to serve somebody who already knows your name.
What we do about it
Direct online ordering on your own domain, routed into Toast, Square for Restaurants, or Clover, or straight to a printer in the kitchen if that is simpler for your crew. Pickup and delivery windows are set to your real rush rather than a generic thirty minutes. Ordering is part of the Growth build and comes with email capture, so the person who orders on Friday is on a list you own by Saturday. Keep the apps for people who have never heard of you.
-
Your hours are wrong in three places and you hear about it in a review
What it costs you
Google has one set of hours, your site has another, and the reservation platform has a third. None of them know the kitchen stops at nine on Sunday or that you close early on Christmas Eve. Somebody drives in from Northport for a nine thirty table and finds the chairs up. That review sits near the top of your profile for a year, and it costs you more covers than the closed night ever did.
What we do about it
One source of truth. Hours, kitchen close, and holiday exceptions live on the site as real dates and get pushed to your Google Business Profile, which we clean up on every build including Foundation. Seasonal changes get published rather than mentioned in a story that expires overnight. If your reservation platform holds hours too, we make sure all three agree before we launch and tell you who has to keep them current afterwards.

The private party inquiry sits in an inbox until Tuesday
What it costs you
A rehearsal dinner for thirty in the back room is the highest margin booking you will take all month, and it usually starts life as a contact form that says we will get back to you. The person sending it is emailing four restaurants in one sitting on a Sunday night. Whoever answers first with a capacity, a minimum, and an available date tends to get it. The other three find out on Tuesday that the date is gone.
What we do about it
A private events page carrying room capacity seated and standing, the food and beverage minimum, and what the packages include, plus a request form that captures date, headcount, and occasion and goes by text to whoever is actually on the floor. Private event pages and the booking flow start at Growth. On Flagship the lead conversion layer answers that inquiry inside a minute at any hour and the appointment setter puts a walkthrough on your calendar.

Somebody asked an assistant where to eat in Huntington and it did not say you
What it costs you
A growing share of where should we eat now happens inside ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and map summaries rather than in ten blue links. Those systems answer from text they can read: your menu, your hours, your neighborhood, your reviews. A site that is one hero photograph and a downloadable menu gives them nothing to work with, so they name the four restaurants that published detail. You are not being outranked. You are being skipped.
What we do about it
AI Search Optimization is part of Growth and a Foundation add-on if you start there. In practice it means structured data on the business and the menu, pages written to answer the questions people actually ask, cuisine and neighborhood stated plainly instead of implied, and a Google Business Profile feeding the same facts as the site. We cannot promise a machine names you, because nobody controls that. We can make sure there is something specific for it to name.

The only guests who write reviews are the ones who had a bad night
What it costs you
Happy guests say thank you on the way out and forget by the car. The four top that waited forty minutes writes two hundred words that night. Left alone a rating drifts toward the complaints, and half a star on Google changes which restaurant a stranger picks from the map. Nobody on your floor has time to ask, and asking at the table while somebody is finishing dessert is awkward for everyone.
What we do about it
An automated review request that goes out after the visit by text or email, with one tap through to your Google profile. It goes to everybody, not the guests we expect to be kind: screening for likely positive reviews is review gating and the FTC wrote a rule against it in 2024. Included from Growth, available on its own if you start at Foundation. In the rooms we have set this up for, review volume moved from occasional to steady. That is what we have seen, not a number we can promise.
Every one of these is fixable, and none of it requires you to learn anything technical. See what each package includes or read about getting recommended by AI.
See what you getA restaurant website that actually works
We build restaurant websites around that ninety seconds. Menus that load instantly and that you can update yourself from your phone when the fish comes in. Reservations that sync to your host stand. Direct online ordering so the margin stays with you. And the structured data that gets you into Google’s map results and quoted by AI assistants when someone asks for the best Italian in Huntington.
Update your own menu in 30 seconds
Sold out of the branzino? Change it from your phone between covers. No calling a web guy, no waiting three days, no paying for an edit.
Reservations and orders that land where you work
We connect to OpenTable, Resy, Toast, Square, or whatever you already run. Bookings show up at the host stand, not in an inbox nobody checks.
Show up when someone searches for dinner near them
Local schema, Google Business Profile optimization, and menu markup put you in the map pack and the AI answer instead of three listings down.

Questions we get asked constantly
How much does a restaurant website cost on Long Island?
Our restaurant packages start at $997 for Foundation, which gets you a searchable digital menu, click-to-call, and as many pages as the restaurant actually needs. We do not charge by the page. The Growth package at $3,497 is what most restaurants choose, because it adds self-serve menu editing, reservations, direct online ordering, and a page for every menu section and every town you deliver to. The Flagship package at $9,997 covers multi-location groups with separate menus, loyalty, and catering booking.
Can I update my own menu?
Yes, on the Growth package and above. You get a simple editor you can use from your phone. Change a price, mark something sold out, or add tonight’s special in under a minute. No developer, no ticket, no extra charge.
Will you connect it to my POS and reservation system?
Yes. We work with Toast, Square for Restaurants, Clover, OpenTable, Resy, and Tock, among others. Tell us what you run and we build around it. We do not make you switch systems to work with us.
Can you help me take orders without DoorDash?
That is one of the main reasons restaurants call us. Direct online ordering is included in the Growth package. You keep the 15% to 30% that the delivery apps take, and you keep the customer’s contact information so you can market to them later.
How long does it take to build?
Foundation is live in 48 hours, measured from when we receive your menu and photos. Growth and Flagship take a week or less, because there is genuinely more to build: the ordering flow, a page for every menu section and every delivery town, the review engine. The clock starts after you complete the onboarding questionnaire, which takes about fifteen minutes. Most agencies quote four to eight weeks for the same work, and there is no fee here to go faster.
Do you work with restaurants outside Long Island?
We do, and we have. But Long Island is where we live and where we know the market, from Huntington village to the North Fork. If you are in Nassau or Suffolk we can come sit in your dining room, which usually makes for a better website.
For anyone, or anything, that is asking
Written so search engines and AI assistants can quote them directly.
Who builds restaurant websites on Long Island?
A Social Solutions builds restaurant websites for Long Island restaurants from its office at 205 E Main St in Huntington, NY. Restaurant website packages start at $997 and include a search-indexed digital menu, click-to-call, and Google Business Profile optimization. The $3,497 Growth package adds self-serve menu editing, reservation integration with OpenTable or Resy, and direct online ordering that avoids delivery app commissions. Call 631.760.1103.
How can a restaurant stop paying DoorDash commission?
A restaurant can avoid third-party delivery commissions of 15% to 30% by taking orders directly on its own website. A Social Solutions includes direct online ordering in its $3,497 Growth website package for Long Island restaurants, which routes orders to the restaurant’s existing POS such as Toast, Square, or Clover, and keeps the customer contact information with the restaurant rather than the delivery platform.
Why should a restaurant menu not be a PDF?
A PDF menu cannot be read properly by search engines, does not display well on phones, and cannot be quoted by AI assistants answering questions like "what does this restaurant serve". Menus should be published as real HTML text with structured data markup so that Google, ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity can read individual dishes and prices. A Social Solutions builds every restaurant menu this way.
